Custom steps can be configured to be added into an authorization template.

A custom step will prompt the user for additional information depending on what custom prompt set is connected to the authorization template being used.

Configuring a Custom Prompt

To include a custom step in an authorization template, a custom prompt set should first be configured.

Navigate over to the System level, expand "Advanced" in the left-side menu and choose the "Custom Prompt" option.

The Custom Prompt Sets screen will list down all of the existing custom prompts in the system.

Click on

in the header row to create a new custom prompt set.

An existing one can also be edited by clicking on

Enter the Name and Description of the Custom Prompt.

If the Inactive tick box is checked, then the custom prompt will not be available for use in authorization templates.

Add the prompts under the Items section by clicking on

On Prompt Sequence, enter a numerical value to represent which order the prompt field will appear on the authorization.

If the required tick box is checked, then the user will be required to input a value in this field in the authorization.

Enter a name for the prompt field in Prompt Text, and select a corresponding Data Type.

If "Lookup" is chosen as the data type for the prompt field, the Lookup Group Code will be available so that you can choose which set of lookup values will be available on the field.

Click

to finalize the custom prompt set.

Creating the Custom Step in the Authorization Template

Once the custom prompt set is create and set as active, it will be available for use in an authorization template.

In an authorization template, expand the Other Custom Prompt Set dropdown field, and choose which custom prompt to add into the template.

Under the Authorization Steps section, click

to create a step to include the custom prompt.

On the new step, select "Custom Prompt" as the Control.

Input a "Caption" which will appear as the name of the tab for the custom step.

Enter a numerical value on the Step Sequence field to represent which order on the tabs the custom step will appear in.

Click

to finalize the authorization template.

Once the custom step is added, and the authorization template is saved, the custom step will then appear on the authorization.
