The caching behavior of the system is controlled by three separate system preference.

  • Disable Browser Caching on Equus Platform Pages

    • EQSECCACHE – When this system preference is set to true/yes the system will not cache pages or resources in the browser, which can increase the security of the site. However, when set to true, each page request will require re-downloading scripts, images and files which can negatively impact performance and require greater network bandwidth.

  • Sets all Equus Platform Pages to Expire Immediately

    • EQSECEXPIR – When this system preference is set to true/yes the system will not cache pages or resources in the browser, which can increase the security of the site. However, this setting can negatively impact performance and require greater network bandwidth.

  • Disable Browser Data Storing Behavior

    • EQSECNOSTO – When this system preference is set to true/yes the system will not store browser data on the user’s disk, which can increase the security of the site. However, when set to true, each session will require re-downloading scripts, images and files which negative impact performance and require greater network bandwidth.

To enable one or all of the above system preference, please contact your Equus Representative.
