What are they?
A User Report Type determines what data tables will be available for use in a User Report. Every User Report has to have a User Report Type.
They are important as they link User Reports and the particular part of the database from which the report needs to fetch its data.
A User Report will always require a User Report Type (or set of data tables/sources) and it is good practice to make a User Report Type for every User Report to ease future tables/data modifications (known as 1:1 methodology).
Note that poor User Report Type configuration can impact system performance, as the path to the relevant data should always be the most direct.
In addition, standard out-of-the-box User Report Types delivered by Equus are locked by default. If changes are needed on these, duplicate the original User Report Type, and update the new copy. Warning badges are shown on standard User Report Types.
Where are User Report Types?
One way to access a user report type is through a quick link in a user report connected to it.
