Importing data is useful in updating large volumes of data when it would be inefficient to manually input the values directly into the system. The use of this customized generic import is to add specific data in AssignmentPro for assignee's which have an existing tax details record already in the system. This import will not work for any assignees without a record created. Any assignees that had a Tax Organizer for the previous year will already have a Tax Details record already.

Click here to download the Tax Return Details Import template. When opened, this template has 3 rows populated.

  • The first row is an instruction header row that provides details on how to fill out the rows below the Header Row.

  • The third row is an example row that shows how the data you want to be imported should be entered on this template. Each row of data is the Tax Return data you want to import for 1 assignee. If you want to import data for multiple assignees at once, you will have multiple rows; each assignee gets his/her own row.

Follow the instructions in the Instruction Header row to populate each column. To populate the second column (TAX_RETURN_DETAIL!TAX_DETAIL_ID) with the Tax Detail ID for the assignee. The Tax Details ID can be found by first navigating to the Tax Details Summary screen at the assignment level. Click on Tax menu item under the Taxation menu heading and clicking on the pencil icon of a Tax Details record.

The Tax Detail ID appears in the URL and it is this ID that is entered into the import under the second column (TAX_RETURN_DETAIL!TAX_DETAIL_ID).

Run the <Insert Name of Report> which provides the Tax Detail IDs for all assignees in the system. This report lists the First Names, Last Names, Employee IDs, Assignment IDs, and Tax Detail IDs for all the assignees in the system.

Once all columns and rows for all assignees to import data for is completed, delete the Instruction Header row. Click on the first row on the left hand side of the template to highlight the row and right mouse click.

Select the Delete option to remove the first row.

Finally, save the file as a CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv). Note there are many kinds of CSV files but you need to save as this exact one:
