Portal Page Configuration

Similar to other portal page configurations the following pages will need to be properly configured on the Portal Page Configuration Templates screen to be made available through the Portal.

  • Compensation Accumulator Collection Periods

  • Compensation Accumulator Period Assignees

  • Compensation Accumulator Edit

For example, if the Online Compensation Accumulation feature is being enabled for an external payroll user then the following configuration would need to take place.

  1. A record would need to be added to the Access Allowed By User Type section that is equal <External Payroll>.

  2. Three records would need to be added to the Page Configuration

    Portal Menu Configuration

The pages listed above will also need to be configured on the Portal Menu Configuration screen. The Compensation Accumulator Collection Periods page is intended to be the landing page for the external Online Compensation Accumulation process. The Compensation Accumulator Period Assignees page is accessed through the Compensation Accumulator Collection Periods page and the Compensation Accumulator Edit page is accessed through the Compensation Accumulator Collection Periods page. The Portal Menu Configuration example below reflects the process flow described above.

As can be seen above, a menu item has been created for the Compensation Accumulator Collection Periods page and the Compensation Accumulator Period Assignees and Compensation Accumulator Edit pages have been added to this record in the Other Equus Platform Pages To Highlight This Menu section. The <External Payroll> user type has also been added to the Menu Item User Type Access section as part of this menu configuration.

    Page Security

Once the Online Compensation Accumulation pages have been configured to be displayed on the portal then each desired user type will need to be granted access to these pages. Rights can be granted to these pages through the Role Maintenance screen.

Also, the data entered on the Compensation Accumulator Edit screen can be submitted, unsubmitted, approved and unapproved. The ability to execute each of these actions is controlled by rights to these various screen sections. A user must be granted screen section rights to each of these items in order to execute the action. If a user does not have rights to a specific action (e.g. approved) then that button will not be seen on the Compensation Accumulator Edit screen.

    Payroll System Association

On the Reporting tab of the Payroll System screen each resource that should have access to the external Online Compensation Accumulation process for that given Payroll System will need to be configured as an External Payroll Contact.
