The following validations are used on the ABA Routing # / Sort Code field on the Bank Account page in the Mobile Employee Experience (MEE) and in the Equus Platform:

  • the length is no longer than 9 digits

  • contains no illegal characters are added - the presence of illegal characters will not be allowed on input

  • the format/length is according to the selected country (There is a locale-specific format for Locations United Kingdom, Canada or United States)

If validations are not met, the user will be presented with an error message: "The Routing Number / Sort Code must be a valid value.” and the value will not be saved until a valid value is entered.

When the ABA Routing # / Sort Code field is populated, it is subjected to a further check if the Country is United Kingdom, Canada or United States.

Below is an example where the value in the ABA Routing # / Sort Code meets the length for the United Kingdom.

When an invalid value is entered and fails the validation for the United Kingdom, a validation error appears and the user cannot save the record until a valid value is entered. Note that validation errors appear as red colored text whilst warning messages are yellowed colored.

After saving, Intermediate Bank Information can be added. An Intermediate Bank could be a bank, credit union, or clearing house the payment moves through before reaching the final bank for ultimate payment. On the Intermediate Banks section, you can add, edit, and delete a new record.
