Policy fields can be created to help users of the system audit services to policy. Policy fields are associated with a screen in the system and can be displayed when service details are entered. There are several examples of policy fields available in the screenshot below.
To create a policy field, you will need to:
Associate the policy field with a screen
Create a new policy field section or associate the new field with an existing one

Complete the Name and Sequence fields on the Policy Field Section Detail section and press

Category: Select a category from the drop down list. This list of categories is maintained on the Lookup Maintenance screen under the name <Policy Field Category>. The Category is used to categorize policy fields and their associated exceptions across policies. It is used by the "Exceptions by Category" widget on the client portal dashboard.

Audit Logic: Policy Fields can optionally have audit logic tied to them. Policy Audit Logic is executed by a stored procedure in the database; there is not a user interface available for creating Policy Audit Logic. If one exists, it will be available in the drop down list. Audit Logic verifies that the services tied to a particular policy rule are within policy. The Policy Audit Batch Update further explains this feature.
Policy Fields can optionally be tied to one or more Service Order Types. Click
and select a Service Order Type from the drop down menu. The Service Order Type drop down list uses the <Service Type> Lookup Maintenance Value. Press
to save changes.
When an exception is raised and the policy field is tied to a service order type, the Service Order Type is displayed on the Exception Details pop-up window.
Tying a policy field to a service order type also displays all the Policy Field linked to a selected a Service Order Type on the Service Order Details screen.
All Policy Fields can be viewed by navigating to the Policy Fields tab in the Policy Benefits/Exceptions screen.
