Authorization Scenarios is a feature that allows for experimentation during the Authorization process while also retaining the data used for those experiments. For example, a user may want to compare the costs of two or more hypothetical assignments, with each one having different desired benefits, family arrangements, or host locations. The creation of a new scenario is available after an Assignment Package has been made by using the [Copy to New Scenario] button on the Assignment Package step of an Authorization.
When multiple Scenarios exist, a scenario picker will appear that allows switching between scenarios. Scenarios are differentiated by an assigned sequential number and their selected Policy name. When a Scenario is routed for Final Approval, all other Scenarios are locked and not editable. The Scenario that has been approved and finalized will show in the Scenario picker and identified as the Main Scenario. If the Cancellation step is enabled, canceling any scenario will cancel all scenarios in the Authorization.
When searching for Authorizations, individual Scenarios will not show as search results. Instead, the most important Scenario is displayed, which is the last Scenario that created an Assignment Package. If no Assignment Package exists, the most recently updated Scenario displays. Related Scenarios are listed in line with the Main Scenario.
Employee search results simply show the most recently updated Scenario’s information in the “Most Recent” column and omits showing Other Scenario information.
