Overview

A cost center is a mechanism within a business to which costs can be allocated. This helps a department track expenses, gauge spend and revenue against each other allowing a better view of the company’s financial status.

A cost center can also be used to conduct data analysis and develop business strategies as well as assessing a department's effectiveness. Data needs to be stored for reporting and reference purposes. The Cost Center screen can found at an assignment level under the Financial section.
