Please contact your Equus Representative prior to editing existing lookup values to conduct an impact analysis. |
Standard drop down (or lookup) fields in the Equus Platform can be edited using the Lookup Maintenance screen at the system and Company level. Use the configuration search tool to navigate to the System Lookup Maintenance screen.
Click on the Lookup field to open the type ahead drop down list.
Things to consider prior to editing existing lookup values:
While it is possible to amend standard lookups (defined by the EQ code), it is better to inactivate them using the Inactive check box and create a new lookup, as Equus may update EQ lookups as part of a release.
Changing an existing entry which is referenced elsewhere could have downstream impacts to functionality. Some EQ lookups are related to system functionality, such as Marital status which determines filing status in a cost estimate.
Edits include and are not limited to changing Display Value, Report Value and Display Order. Changing the Display Order of cost estimate or compensation calculation sections and sub-sections could alter the order in which line items are calculated.
Existing lookup values can be modified by updating the Display Value and Report Value fields on the System Lookup Maintenance screen.
To change the display order, modify the value of the Display Order field and to make the lookup value inactive, mark the Inactive checkbox. When a lookup value is made inactive, the value will no longer appear in the lookup drop down list
All values on the System Lookup Maintenance screen are available to all companies. To have different lookup values for different companies, a lookup override must be applied at the company level using the Company Lookup Override screen.
Select the Lookup Field from the type-ahead drop down list. Select <No> for the Company Inactive field and click
to hide the value from the company drop down list.
Things to Note
When Lookup Fields have been added to an Integration Data Map, an option will be available to send for the selected field the Display Name (Display Value), the ID (Code) or the Client Value (Client Code) for the lookup if one has been configured on the Lookup Maintenance screen.
