When an Assignment Policy is saved for an Assignment, its Services become associated with that Assignment. However, in order for a Service’s associated screens to be available on the assignment, the Service must be authorized. Services become authorized in the following manner:
Manually, by navigating to the Services screen for the Assignment and selecting Authorized for each Service.
Automatically, via the “Authorize In-Policy Services for New Assignments” Quick Workflow. This authorizes Services marked as In Policy for new assignments that are saved with a Policy selected. Note this Quick Workflow ships as Inactive and must be set to Active if it is to be used.
Automatically, via specifying the Authorized on the Services tab of an Authorization. The Services will be saved with the same Authorized value that was specified on the Services. It is not recommended to use the “Authorize In-Policy Services for New Assignments” along with this.
Automatically, when a Core Flex Authorization is finalized and its associated assignment is created. Services associated with Benefits that have a specified Cost will be saved to the Assignment as Authorized. It is not recommended to use the “Authorize In-Policy Services for New Assignments” along with this.
When Services are authorized, the following occurs:
The appropriate service-related screens are available for use on the Assignment.
Additionally, Quick Workflows can be configured to automate other process such as creating service orders.
