A Document Type can be made inactivate at a company level using the Company level Company Document Type Override screen. Navigate to the screen by utilizing the Global Search. This screen can also be found under the Systems Overrides menu group at the Company level, for a selected Company. If the screen does not appear in the menu, check you have the correct security rights and that the menu item is not hidden/overridden.
