Work Time Split

Work Time Split allows you to monitor and allocate work time between home and host countries for accurate mobility cost estimates and billing

Monitor commuter work patterns by logging work time split on the Mobility Record and generate accurate costings with the work time split feature. Easily account for mid-month moves or split work time, with the added flexibility to select a Proration Basis for each line item based on months.

Configuring Work Time Split

It is recommended to copy your current cost estimate. This feature is typically applicable to commuter moves but this can be used to your traditional Short Term Assignments. For specific details on copying cost estimate templates, you can refer to this article on creating cost estimate templates. Name the cost estimate template as needed.

In the copied template, tick the "Use Decimal Months" under the Calculation Details and Defaults section.

Using Work Time Split

Before creating your cost estimate, make sure to enable the work time split in the Assignment/Authorization record. Work Time Split is a checkbox available if the record type is “International Assignment”. These can be utilized to define the Home & Host work percentage which is used for Cost Estimates. Note, that fields also appear on the Relocation step of the Authorization wizard

Things to Note:

  • Work Time Split doesn't follow a specific unit. This can be defined in days, weeks or percentage. Be sure to fill out the details with similar units.

  • If you are using the workaround before the work time split feature is available, remove the line item: Host Income Offset. This includes widgets and any custom fields used to track data.

  • For calculations using Business Rules, make sure the business rules uses the new "months in host" fields.
