When Compensation Worksheet Transaction Processing Status has changed to Processed, you can start the Payroll Gross-Up Calculation Batch Process. A Calculate Gross-Up button will appear.
A Gross-Up Preview screen will appear when Calculate Gross-Up button is clicked. The Preview lists every assignment included in the Compensation Worksheet Transaction process, not just the gross-up eligible records.
Each row shows Employee Name, the Assignment as a link, and Gross-Up eligibility. This will return 2 possible outcomes per assignment record in the preview screen:
Eligible — has an authorized Payroll Gross-Up service, at least one compensation worksheet line item with Gross-Up enabled, and a processed compensation worksheet transaction for the pay date.
Not Eligible — excluded from the run, and provides one of the following reasons when hovering over Not Eligible:
Gross-up calculation is not available for this payroll system.
Payroll Gross-Up is not an authorized service for this Assignment.
The relocation policy for the assignment does not have a Gross-Up method selected.
Click Confirm to run the batch for every Eligible assignment. Click Cancel to cancel and not continue running the calculation. Once a batch completes, the batch results are displayed on the Compensation Worksheet Transaction Processing screen.
The Gross-Up Batch will provide Status, # of items processed, payroll system, submitted and completed date stamp information and who ran the batch.
Account Outputs to Equus Payroll Engine
When the gross-up calculation batch sends a compensation worksheet transaction to the Equus Payroll Engine, it sends the following Account details tied to that transaction's originating line item
Account Code
Name
Value
Recurring (Account Line Item Frequency)
Account's Taxability and Gross-Up Application settings
Once an assignment qualifies for Calculating Gross-Up, the engine receives the Account for every transaction in that assignment's compensation worksheet pay period — not only the line item(s) with Gross-Up enabled.
Account Taxability consists of four taxability flags: Income, Social, Payroll, and FBT. By default, these values come from Global Tax Country Taxability Default, using the Account's Payroll Tax Input Line Item as the lookup key. If a matching record exists in Global Tax System Country Account Taxability Override for the same Account and country, the override values are used instead. Whether the override applies is determined by its effective dates relative to the pay period:
An override applies when its effective date is on or before the pay period and it has no end date.
An override remains in effect for a pay period if its end date falls within that pay period.
Once a pay period occurs entirely after the override end date, the override no longer applies and the default taxability values are used again.
Account is the source of truth for taxability. Two line items tied to the same Account always carry identical taxability data to the engine — taxability is a property of the resolved Account, never set independently per line item.
