The Payroll Gross-Up screen is available at the Assignment Level. This will display when the Payroll Gross-Up service is authorized for the assignment. This includes the following tabs:
General
Payroll Fiscal Year Details
General
This tab includes the following sections:
General - General Info section includes Employee and Assignment details. All fields are read-only as they are sourced from other areas of the Employee/Assignment record.
Payroll Gross-Up - Payroll Gross-Up section includes the Policy Payroll Gross-Up Settings as a default for both the from and to payroll systems. Click Customize to edit settings for the specific assignment. This is managed by a system preference, please check with your Equus Representative if you have the feature enabled.
If the company assignment policy has a country-level override matching the assignment payroll system country, that override value displays in place of the policy's base value for that assignment.
If the payroll's country is not supported for gross-up, no method or settings display.
Payroll Country Inputs - This section controls the relevant country specific input fields automatically based on the payroll system country configured for each side of the assignment.
If a Payroll System does not have “Enable Gross-Up Processing” enabled, the country block will be blank.
Payroll Country Input coverage is pulled by matching the assignment's From and To Payroll System countries. Each Payroll Country Input will have defined required fields that must be completed in order for the Gross-Up Calculation batch process to run successfully.
Payroll Fiscal Year Details
This tab capture Payroll Country year to date wage information that is used in supporting the Gross-Up Calculation process. This includes two country-specific grids since the two countries on an assignment don't necessarily share a tax-year calendar:
From Payroll
To Payroll
Year labels follow each country's own tax year. A calendar-year country (e.g., Canada) shows a plain year like "2026." A non-calendar country (e.g., the UK, April 6 – April 5) shows a span like "2025/2026." Adding a new year computes the next label automatically in the correct format. If “Enable Gross-Up Processing” is not enabled for a Payroll System then that Country will not be displayed in the FYTD screen. Opening a fiscal year record expands its full detail inline beneath the row, instead of a separate pop-up window. Each Payroll Country fiscal year record will display necessary wage fields for that country. With each country showing calculated and override columns. The override replaces the calculated amount for the next gross-up calculation. That calculation updates the calculated amount with its result and clears the override.
