APPENDIX A – 13-Month Payroll

This example assumes that the line items should be calculated based on 1/12th of the salary each pay period.

The annual salary is 130,000 CAD, but only 1/13th should be paid each pay period.

On the assignment template, the base salary line item is created as a fixed amount (calculated outside the system as 1/13th of the effective salary)

A standard 1 month worksheet will look like the following:

 Note that Salary is 1/13th of annual salary

 And the allowances are calculating off of 1/12th the annual salary (the foreign service premium line is Calculating 10% of salary).

130000 CAD / 12 periods * 10% = 1083.33

A 13th period will be set-up for one day in December.

The one day worksheet will continue to calculate the fixed amount salary, but will not calculate an amount for allowances for a one-day pay period.
