The
button only appears for Assignments that do not have an associated Authorization for Companies that have the Allow Authorization Creation From Existing Assignment field set to <Yes>. Update this value on the Authorization Settings page, found under the Authorization Configuration menu item.
If an Authorization exists for the Assignment, then the Authorization Status and Authorization Coordinator will be displayed with a
button.
When selected, this button will launch the Authorization page and prompt the user to select an Authorization Template.
Once an Authorization template is selected, the system creates an Authorization and launch the Authorization page. If only one Authorization Template exists for the given Company then the system will create and Authorization and launch the Authorization page using that template.
The Authorization steps will be populated with the current Assignment data. The amount of data in the Authorization page is a limited amount data compared to what is stored at the Assignment level. The following behavior will occur when the relationship between the Assignment fields and the Authorization fields are slightly different or not a one to one relationship.

Primary Telephone
If a primary telephone number is designated at the Assignment level then that telephone number will be brought over as the Primary Telephone for the Authorization
If only one telephone number exists for the Assignment level then that telephone number will be brought over as the Primary Telephone for the Authorization
If more than one telephone number exists for the Assignment and there is no primary designation then the Primary Telephone for the Authorization will not be populated
Secondary Telephone
If two telephone numbers exist at the Assignment level and one is designated as primary then the non-primary telephone number will be brought over as the Secondary Telephone for the Authorization
If two telephone numbers exist at the Assignment level and there is no primary designation then the Secondary Telephone for the Authorization will not be populated
If more than two telephone numbers exist at the Assignment level then the Secondary Telephone for the Authorization will not be populated
Mailing Address Summary
βAll Addresses will copy over to the authorization and vice versa when an assignment is created from the authorization
Fax
If a primary fax number is designated at the Assignment level then that fax number will be brought over as Fax for the Authorization
If only one fax number exists at the Assignment level than that fax number will be brought over as the Fax for the Authorization
If more than one fax number exists at the Assignment level and there is no primary designation then the Fax for the Authorization will not be populated

Spouse/Domestic Partner
This information will come from the Assignment Spouse/Domestic Partner page
Spouse/Domestic Partner Contact Information
This information will come from the Assignment Other Contacts page when the Contact Type is equal to Assignee Spouse/Partner
Children\Dependents
This information will come from the Assignment Children & Dependents page
Services step
The services that have been authorized for the Assignment will also be authorized for the Authorization even if the service is not In Policy for the assigned Relocation Policy.
