Equus Platform is a multi-company capable system. Each company, also known as a “client”, can have unique system settings and processes. The Companies screen allows Users to navigate the company maintenance screens for a specific company.
A User’s access rights to the Company screen can be restricted based on the Users security definition. This security is defined at the user level on the User Maintenance Screen.
When to Create Multiple Companies
A rule of thumb for creating new companies is to create a new company in the application for domestic business and one for international business. Supporting reasons for this decision are:
independent portal configuration,
custom fields,
base currencies, and
lookups and policies by company.
While there are reasons to have multiple companies in this scenario, it is not a steadfast rule.
