External client users will get access to the Business Partner portal view of the Equus Platform. This is a simplified version of what Internal Users see, designed to allow them to initiate an assignment, submit requests like extensions and repatriations, and see information about their assignee population. The external client role is usually given to HR or business users, or anyone who needs to initiate assignments and do simple tasks, but do not need to see the detail a Global Mobility user does.

Create an External User

  1. To create an external user account, navigate to the User Maintenance screen at the System Configuration level. Click on the

    apro plus

sign to add a new user.

  2. Select <External Client> from the User Type drop down list to create an external user.

  3. Fill in the rest of the data on the screen including a security role. There should be a default security role for the external client portal. This may be called "External Client" or "Portal Client - all access (view only)". For more details about the fields that appear on the User Maintenance screen, refer to How to create and maintain a user. You can select the company or companies to which they should have access or tick the restrict to access group assignment to grant user rights to all assignments tagged with the selected access groups. To add an access group, check out this article for more details.

, a warning appears at the top. Click on

to allow the user to login to the portal.

  5. When viewing the user in the User Maintenance grid, an additional security role called "Equus - Landing Experience" will appear only for External Client users where at least one of the companies have the Landing Experience turned on. This role cannot be viewed in the User Maintenance screen, only from this screen.

The "Equus - Landing Experience" security role is automatically assigned to users with a an External Client user Type and when the Landing Experience (External Clients Only) checkbox is ticked on the company's Portal Configuration screen.
