A user’s access for the company can be restricted by the defined company segments or levels. Users can only view assignments that are moving from or to the segments to which they have rights. This security is defined at the user level on the User Maintenance screen on the Company Segment Security tab by configuring whether to grant or deny access to each of the segment levels. Note that the additional security tabs are available if the User Type is set to <External Client> or if the Has All Assignment Rights check box is unticked for User Types <Internal> or <Internal Read Only> on the General tab on the User Maintenance screen.
On the Company Segment Security tab, select the company from the Company drop down list.
Exceptions are made by clicking the
button and selecting the exception from the drop down list. To add multiple groups to a user record at once, type the required number in the number box before clicking the [New] button.
Note that the segment levels sections are configured at the company level on the Segment Level Segment Level screen and the drop down values for each segment level are configured on the Segment Lookup if segments are configured to use lookups.
In the example below, the user has been configured to only have access to assignments where the "Region" is "African Region". This is indicated by the Default Access Type being set to <Deny> and <Africa Region> being set as an exception to that rule.
