When election set budgeting is enabled and a user submits the election set, the leftover money or points budget will always save a value to the ELECTION_SET!LEFTOVER_BUDGET_AMOUNT field.
This can be useful for reporting and/or auditing reasons and removes the need to use a Custom Field to calculate the remaining amount or number of points.
When the currency type is:
"Points Only" - the remaining number of points is saved
"Home", "Host", "Company" or "System" - the remaining amount is saved
Things to note
Previously the remaining budget amount was only saved if the “Allow Cash-Out" penalty option was selected. Now the remaining budget amount is always saved. In this new case of no cash penalty, 100% of the leftover amount is saved. If using a money to point conversion, the leftover amount is still stored in the Election Set currency’s money amount. If using the “Points Only” option, the remaining budget amount is stored as the point amount.
The ELECTION_SET!BUDGET_CURRENCY field shows the correct currency of the leftover budget. A NULL value is used when a points budget is used.
