The easiest way to create a checklist for a country's new tax year is by copying the existing year's checklist. Prior to doing this, a Questionnaire Screen Definition must be first be created for the country for the new tax year.
This checklist template is triggered when there is a change to the ID on the Tax Return Detail data source.
When this is done, navigate to the company's Create New Checklist Template screen. The most direct way of accessing this screen is using the Configuration search tool. Select the name of the company from the drop down list if there are multiple companies in the system
Select <Copying a System Template> from the Create New Template By drop down list field and press [OK].
Select the template to copy from by clicking on the drop down list for the field Template To Copy and press [OK].
Copied checklist will be saved as Inactive and "(Copy)" is appended to the ended of the Checklist Name. Update the new checklist by editing fields to reflect the new financial year such as the Name and Description fields.
Amend the Checklist template to ensure that it sends out the correct financial year tax organizer.
On the Checklist Template Details screen, navigate to the Alert Only If These Conditions Are True section. Update the Tax Return Detail: Tax Year Ending field to make it equal to the new tax year and press [Save].
In the Checklist Items section, locate the ‘Complete Tax Organizer’ step and click on the pencil icon to edit the item.
Update the By Going to Questionnaire field value located in the Completion section. Click on the drop down list and select the name of the Questionnaire for the new tax year.
Then, under Alert Only If These Conditions Are True section, update the Questionnaire: Screen Name field to the exact name of the Questionnaire that was selected above and click [Save]. It is important that the name entered in the Comparison Value has to EXACTLY MATCH the name of the Questionnaire that was created for the new tax year.
