Run multiple cost scenarios before creating an assignment with What-If Cost Estimates

What-If Cost Estimates is a self-service tool that advances the way global mobility teams plan, forecast and budget for an assignment by enabling hypothetical cost projections to understand the full impact of an assignment prior to selecting the right talent or resource. Benefits include:

  • Hypothetical cost scenarios that provide teams with the insights to make the smart, cost effective decisions

  • Provide immediate results for the Business Unit or Human Resource Manager.

Other Features

Assignment Details

Previously, when the Assignment/Relocation Coordinator field was set as “Read-Only”, users could not save the assignment record. This has been fixed.

Assignment Packages

A couple issues related to Assignment Packages have been corrected.

  • When running an Assignment Package with a Compensation Calculation backed by a User Report, the inputs for the Compensation Calculation were not being filled by the User Report as expected. The user would receive error messages indicating that some inputs were missing or were incorrect. Now the values pull through when calculated, and also display on the Inputs tab of the Compensation Calculation.

  • When requesting an Assignment Package through an Authorization, values that were entered into any prompts on the request were not pulling through onto the Cost Estimates. The information now correctly shows on the Cost Estimates Inputs tab.

Compensation

Some minor enhancements have been made to the Compensation area of AssignmentPro.

  • When creating User Report Types, you can now join from the Compensation Worksheet Assignment Template to Compensation Worksheet Company Template. This is helpful when trying to create an audit report to see which Company Template was used for each assignment.

  • On the Compensation Control Panel Page, the Undo and Completed icons were not appearing when using Google Chrome or Firefox browsers. This has been corrected.

  • The three Global Statement of Earnings production reports have been updated so that all amounts are formatted as Numbers. This can be very helpful when outputting the report data to Excel for further manipulation. The following reports have been updated: Global Statement of Earnings - Assignment Level, Global Statement Of Earnings Summary, and Global Statement Of Earnings.

  • Previously, users attempting to undo the Compensation Accumulator Simple Format Import were experiencing timeout errors when attempting to undo large imports. This has been resolved.

Cost Estimates

There was a defect in the feature that defines the number of columns for Cost Estimates. When the Assignment Effective Date was the last date of the month, e.g., June 30th or May 31st, an extra month column was included. This has been corrected.

Currencies

The new Belarusian Ruble (BYN) has been added to the list of currencies available. This currency can now be selected when entering monetary amounts in the system. NOTE – no changes have been made to Belarus within the Country configuration; meaning that the default currency for Belarus will remain as is unless you update your configuration. In July 2016, the new ruble was introduced with a redenomination rate of 1 new ruble = 10,000 old rubles. If you plan to convert any existing monies in the old ruble currency (BYR) to the new currency (BYN) please use our Currency Changeover process screen.

Custom Fields

Custom fields that had dropdown lists with manually-entered values were no longer showing those values on the screen where the custom field was placed. This has been corrected.

Documents

The Download All Documents link was no longer appearing on the Documents Page; this has been corrected.

Expense Management

Some minor enhancements have been made to the Expense Management area of AssignmentPro.

  • The following two fields have been added to the Tax Calc Payroll Details (view): Business Expense and Payroll Sent Date.

  • Previously, there was an error generated when viewing a Voucher that included an attached Note/Communication. This has been corrected.

Imports

A few imports have been updated per client requests.

  • The Employee Assignment Flexible Header Import has been updated to allow for inserts and updates to Compensation Data Repository and User tables. When importing to the Compensation Data Repository, import files will update the same record only once; additional rows intended to update a record that was already updated will be returned with errors.

  • Previously, when an account was inactive at the system level, but a company-level override made the account active, Comp Accumulator Simple Format Import files would generate an error stating the account is not active. This has been adjusted to honor the company-level override.

Security Updates

As a standard process, Equus fixes vulnerabilities found through testing and analysis. For this release, a few enhancements have been made to address findings.

User Reports

A couple of improvements have been to the user reporting capabilities.

  • There were some performance issues reported when running User Reports; this has been corrected.

  • The EQ_STD_DEPENDENTS_GET function that can be utilized with in user reports has been modified to correctly pull values that exceed 200 characters.

What-If Cost Estimates

What-If Cost Estimates allow the Mobility team, or other stakeholders within an organization, to quickly run a hypothetical cost estimate based on a few basic inputs and an agreed set of assumptions set by the organization. Scenarios can be run for different move types, compensation, and locations, without the need to create an employee or assignment record.

  • By entering a handful of inputs, users can instantly generate a What-If Cost Estimate report with totals in the Home, Host and Company currencies.

  • Expat4Cast Cost Estimate templates, including associated calculations can be enabled for What-If Cost Estimates.

  • The experience can be tailored to best meet the business needs of the organization. The process can be fully automated, or support an assisted workflow whereas a Mobility Team member can modify the cost estimate prior to posting the report back to the requestor.

  • Please see the What-If Cost Estimate user manual for more details.

Widgets/Dashboards

Following the widget enhancements included in version 16.3, some fixes were required.

  • When more than 2 lines, the title of a Summary or Shortcut widget did not wrap correctly. Now, titles display with the correct indentation.

  • Sometimes a bookmark widget would overlap other widgets on a dashboard. This issue has been resolved.
