Key Features
Release 16.6 includes a number of new features which significantly enhance the functionality of AssignmentPro.
Report Scheduler
The Report Scheduler delivers information proactively to the right people at the right time! Instead of having to generate various reports individually, you can simply setup the Scheduler to generate and email reports to you – or anyone you authorize – whenever you need it. By enabling flexible scheduling and publishing of your reports, the Scheduler helps:
Optimize productivity while improving information flow within your business
Distribute information efficiently, consistently and securely
Inform stakeholders, in real time, about the latest metrics
Other Features
Assignment Extensions
Previously, approving an assignment Extension Proposed End Date would update the assignment’s Extended End Date only when the first Proposed End Date record was approved. Now, approving any Extension Proposed End Date will update the Extended End Date.
Assignment Packages
Under certain conditions, running an Assignment Package Batch resulted in low memory issues, which caused functionality in AssignmentPro that runs in the background to stop working (e.g., user reports, batches, etc.). This has been resolved.
Compensation Calculations
A few corrections have been made to Compensation Calculations.
Occasionally Compensation Calculations would fail to calculate with the following error message: "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached"; this has been resolved.
When the template is configured to use a Calculation of type Compensation/Custom Calculation (new) with a value of “Compensation Data Repository Based Calculation”, the effective Compensation Calculation would only calculate if the compensation data repository value was in one of five known currencies (From Country, To Country, System Base, Company Base, Data Entry Currency). Users would receive an error otherwise. Now the line item will calculate regardless of the currency, provided an exchange rate can be found.
Compensation Worksheets
A few changes have been made to Compensation Worksheets.
When creating Compensation Worksheets and configuring the Split Payment to be 100% in the Home Country, or Host Country, a small remainder would occasionally be left in the opposite location. This has now been corrected.
When attempting to undo Compensation Worksheets batches that contained retro compensation worksheets, the screen would flash, but not actually undo the batch. To improve upon this experience, users will now receive a message stating they must first undo all retro compensation worksheets before undoing a complete batch.
Cost Estimates
A few corrections have been made to Cost Estimates.
Occasionally Cost Estimates would fail to calculate with the following error message: "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached." This has been resolved.
When the template is configured to use a Calculation of type Compensation/Custom Calculation (new) with a value of “Compensation Data Repository Based Calculation”, the effective cost estimate would only calculate if the compensation data repository value was in one of five known currencies (From Country, To Country, System Base, Company Base, Data Entry Currency). Users would receive an error otherwise. Now the line item will calculate regardless of the currency, provided an exchange rate can be found.
The ‘Cost Estimate Line Item Amount Per Column Year (view)’, which is used to calculate estimated cost of multiple assignments by calendar year, suffered from poor performance and has been reworked to improve efficiency. Also, the following additional fields, Assignment ID, Number of Years, Primary Estimate and Assignment Inactive, have been added to the view to assist users who are building reports and using this view as a base.
Dashboard Widgets
Some users were receiving an "Error retrieving tasks and notifications" message in their Tasks & Notifications widget. This has been resolved.
Domestic Gross Up
The standard Canada Tax Calc Payroll Report’s Paid to Other column would incorrectly report the calculated tax amount for the destination Province. This issue has been resolved.
Dual Career Moves
Users can now link two assignments together to support special considerations for partners going on assignment together. See the Create an Employee and Assignment user manual for more details.
An assignment can now be designated that it is part of a dual career move.
A hyperlink to the associated assignment will display on the Assignment, Cost Estimates, Compensation Calculations, and Compensation Worksheets screens.
Imports
The Employee Assignment Flexible Header import was failing when it attempted to insert a duplicate assignment record into a single-record user table. The following corrections were made.
If the Assignment Number is found in the Single-Record user table, the record will be automatically updated.
If the Assignment Number is NOT found in the Single-Record user table, the record will be automatically inserted.
If any Single-Record user table column contains “|recordIdentifier=true” to identify it as a key field, an error will be displayed.
Sometimes when importing to a User Table with similarly-named fields, the import failed.
Quick Workflow
Users can now create quick workflow notifications that are triggered by information related to pets as part of Move Management and/or Temporary Living. Specifically, the following tables are now available:
Move Management Pet Shipment
Move Management Pet Shipment Assignment Pet
Temp Living Needs Assessment Assignment Pet
Report Scheduler
The Report Scheduler is a recurring and automated interface to produce and deliver reports as often as defined. Not only does this save time by automating this mundane task, the Report Scheduler also improves consistency and eliminates the risk of user errors. See the Report Scheduler user manual for more details.
Schedule one or more User Report(s) to be e-mailed daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly to the recipients of your choice
Reports are delivered to the recipient(s) as an email attachment
One time configuration to designate recipients and the content that accompanies the report with every delivery
Reports can be password protected for increased security
Tax Position Sets
A few of the default values in each of the Equus Recommended Tax Position Sets have been updated. These default values will carry through to all custom permission sets created, unless an override has been made. Please run the System User Report titled “Equus - Tax Position Sets Report” to see the most current defaults in each tax position set.
Vendor Integration
Earlier in 2016, we rolled out the ability to integrate with vendors not using AssignmentPro allowing for additional process efficiency, communication efficiency with your vendors, data accuracy and easier vendor service visibility.
Once this integration is set-up with your tax, immigration, move management, temporary living, and/or health insurance vendors, you will be able to share vendor service request details automatically and your vendors will be able to share service detail and status updates back in your version of AssignmentPro in real time.
This release we have made improvements to these features.
Rather than a vendor having to reach out to AssignmentPro looking for new work, the vendor now has the option to have AssignmentPro push a notification to the vendor when services are requested. Within the service order communication, a new Type of ‘Automated’ is available for use with Vendors who have all the correct configuration to integrate.
Permission sets have been simplified to make accessing the data easier for vendors.
Move Management permission set has been added.
Immigration permission set has been refined to better align with current business processes and needs.
Additionally, if integrating with a vendor also using AssignmentPro, the assignment Salary and Family Size may also be included. More specifically, when configuring the Integration Data Packages, the Authorization table is now available with following fields:
Annual Base Pay
Annual Base Pay Currency
Number of Accompanying on Assignment
Total Family Size
Family Size on Assignment
Number of Children
What-If Cost Estimates
A couple of defects were identified and have been corrected.
The Employee Pension Contribution Amount was not populating for the first year in What-if Cost Estimates, causing Base Compensation to be overstated.
In some instances an extra spaces was added to the “To City” and “From City” on the What-If Cost Estimate, which caused custom calculations to error.
Previously, the What-If Cost Estimate request forms would close if you clicked off of them. Now this series of forms only closes if you click one of the buttons to close the form ([X], [Close] or [Cancel]) or if you click the [Esc] button on your keyboard.
