Key Feature
Release 18.5 includes a new feature which significantly enhances the functionality of AssignmentPro.
Publishing Assignment Package Documents to the MEE
At the click of a button, clients can now automatically send and display assignment package documents to the Mobile Employee Experience app â further simplifying and automating the assignment authorization process. With the ability to post compensation statements, balance sheets, assignment letters, and more, this new feature helps your team be more efficient while providing your mobile employees with the documents they need, when they need it most, all through an intuitive app. Additionally, this new capability is available at the batch level, allowing clients to easily communicate periodic compensation changes to large numbers of employees to support policy changes, data subscription updates, and/or salary reviews.
Other Features
Assignment Packages
Assignment Packages have been enhanced to enable documents and reports generated during package creation to be delivered to the Mobile Employee Experience. Configuration of Assignment Packages now allows for a new Delivery Type, "Portal", to be associated to Delivery Methods. When Packages are built using a template configured with this method from either the Assignment Package Details or Assignment Package Batch Details screen, specific documents may be selected for delivery to the MEE, and employees may be optionally notified via email. Delivered items may be un-delivered if desired.
Authorizations
Fixed an issue where exceptions in Authorizations for Core Flex policy line items were sometimes not correctly rendering on screen.
Improved on-screen messaging to be more descriptive and user friendly when using Core Flex policies.
Fixed an issue in which modified employee data was sometimes not getting copied to the final assignment when using multiple Authorization scenarios.
Removed the data change warning message from completed Authorizations that used a Core Flex policy.
Fixed an issue in which the policy and Benefit Set would be reset when switching between multiple Authorization scenarios.
Fixed multiple issues in which deadlock errors would occur and/or calculation results would become inaccurate due to multiple users performing the same system action simultaneously.
Minimum and maximum Benefit Set Line Items values now have culture-appropriate comma and decimal separators.
Enhanced the Authorization Template âRequired for Processâ setting so that when the Assignment Package step is required for the Approval step, unapproved exceptions now mean the package step is not complete.
Fixed an issue in which saving on the Approval page would sometimes corrupt the Approval Date, Approval Status Last Update By, and Approval Status Last Update Date fields.
Assignment Search
On the Select Employee/Assignment screen, the Company search field will now be auto-selected if there is only one company. This change improves usersâ efficiency when searching for assignments based on Company.
Compensation Calculations
Fixed an issue with user reports that would sometimes cause calculations to be inaccurate. The user reports were only being run once and could be being run too early in the process. This would cause line items that are dependent upon prior line items, or line items that share user reports to be inaccurate.
Cost Estimates
Fixed an issue with user reports that would sometimes cause calculations to be inaccurate. The user reports were only being run once and could be being run too early in the process. This would cause line items that are dependent upon prior line items, or line items that share user reports to be inaccurate.
External Client (HR) Portal
On the Select Employee/Assignment screen, enhanced the functionality of the Relocation Type, Relocation Phase, and Relocation Status search fields to display their choice lists based on the Company selected for the Search. If the Company has identified an override for one of those fields, the choice list will display values identified for that Company, instead of for the System. This change improves usersâ efficiency when searching for assignments based on Company.
Import Data
In the past, the services related to imports operated on a cycle where they slept for a configurable amount of time (typically 10 seconds), before waking up to check to see if there is import-related work to do. Because many of the services related to imports take a long time to process and during run time the service doesnât report a heartbeat, it is difficult to determine whether or not a service has hung and needs to be restarted. The import services have been enhanced to report a heartbeat as they are processing data. This allows a user the ability to more quickly identify and restart a hung service. The System Information Page has been enhanced to display a progress indicator for imports which will display how much progress has been made as well as how much work is left when an import is running.
An Index has been added to the HRIS_CONFIG_DATA table to help speed up HRIS imports.
Mobile Employee Experience
The Mobile Employee Experience has been enhanced to display the published Assignment Package documents/reports to the employee in the Documents area.
Password Generation
Enhanced the automated password generation functionality to prevent the random generation of a word as a part of the temporary password. This eliminates the possibility of including a word that the recipient might find offensive.
Quick Workflow
In certain instances when configuring quick workflows, an erroneous red box error was displaying on the Quick Workflow Configuration Screen: âCannot secure this SQL Statement against the Company table. More than one path was found from WORKFLOW_ERS_EVENT_DEFINITION to Company. A path hint is required to secure this statement.â This has been resolved.
Resources
In certain instances the Resource field was showing a âRequired Fieldâ validation message even when a resource had been selected in the dropdown list.
The Resource / Coordinator fields on the Assignment details page have been enhanced to improve response time when a large number of active resources are present.
Service Orders
As part of automatically initiating Services, a Note/Communication can now be sent for Service Orders associated with Service Types configured to Auto-Send when Services are authorized. This allows information to be sent to the Vendor without having to do the manual work necessary to order services. If the Vendor is integrated, the specific data configured in the Event Definition will be sent to the Vendor as well.
U.S. Domestic Tax Gross Up
Enhancements have been made to our Domestic Gross Up functionality to support the tax law changes that are part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, and well as state conformity. These enhancements include:
Additional Sub Type options at the individual account level to support the states who have decided to not conform to the new treatment of moving expenses.
Enhancements to both our standard Payroll and Year End Report to include state level information for the expenses that are now taxable at the federal level but excludable from some states.
Additional information on these changes and as well the configuration changes you may want to consider in your system can be found in both our Domestic Grossup User Manual and in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 Information Guide for AssignmentPro. Both of these documents can be found on the Equus File Portal.
User Reports
Updated the EQ_STD_CUSTOM_FIELD_CODE_FROM_UNIQUE_NAME function to increase performance when doing a reverse lookup to get the CODE for a given custom fieldâs DISPLAY_VALUE.
Enhanced the Assignment Dependents (view) to be more performant, to include Dependent level Custom Fields and also fixed an issue where the School Type field was returning the Display Order instead of the Display Value.
Vendor Integration
Fixed an issue where Assignment edits could result in the duplication of employee dependent records in integrated vendor systems.
As part of automatically initiating Services, a Note/Communication can now be sent for Service Orders associated with Service Types configured to Auto-Send when Services are authorized. This allows an e-mail to be sent to the Vendor along with the data identified in the Event Definition, which reduces the manual work necessary to order services.
Editing an Integration Push Script that is associated to an Event Definition which has Required Fields configured will remove any Required Fields that were removed from the Push Script. Changing the Push Script that is associated to an Event Definition with Required Fields will cause only the fields that exist in both the prior and currently selected Push Script to remain as Required Fields. This ensures that when configuration changes are made, the system does not validate Required Fields that no longer exist.
