The Compensation Data Repository screen is located at the Assignment level
This screen can be used to create and edit miscellaneous assignment level compensation data. A new record can be added to this screen by selecting the plus icon.
For each record a Name, Amount, Currency, Effective Date and End Date can be entered. Custom fields can also be added to this screen as desired. Additional fields that are hidden by default like Preferred Payment Location and Comp Worksheet Single Use can be enabled.
Note, if desired, the line item name field can be configured to be a drop-down list using the Compensation Data Repository “Use a Line Item Name drop-down list” system preference and the values maintained using the Lookup Maintenance screen.
Compensation Worksheet Dictionary
A specific calculation must be selected for Compensation Data Repository Based Calculation (Track Usage)
Compensation Data Repository Based Calculation - When selected, the Compensation Worksheet Line item will have a link to the CDR entry it pulled from.
Compensation Data Repository Based Calculation (Track Usage) - When selected, the Compensation Worksheet Line item will have a link to the CDR entry it pulled from. This makes the item visible on the Compensation Data Repository (in the new Compensation Worksheet References section) and reportable in user reports. Otherwise it functions the same as the “Compensation Data Repository Based Calculation” option.
Compensation Data Repository Based Calculation - One Time (Track Usage) - This calculation is similar to the “Compensation Data Repository Based Calculation (Track Usage) except when the CDR item it is pulling from has the “Comp Worksheet Single Use” checked, then it will not pick up the CDR item if another Comp Worksheet Line item has a link to it (except if it is a retro comp worksheet, and the link is from the parent comp worksheet.)
Reporting
Any data entered and saved on this screen can be reported on through User Reports. The Compensation Data Repository Most Current (View) can be used to report this data. The view will return the most current line items based on the comparison of Effective Date and today’s date.
For example, if there are two line items with name of “Example”, no End Date and the Effective Date on one of the line items is 1/1/13 and the Effective Date on the other item is 1/12/13 and today’s date is 1/15/13 then the “Example” line item with the Effective Date of 1/12/13 will be returned. It is important to note that line items with no Effective Date, a future Effective Dates (a date greater than today’s date) or End Dates before today's date will not be returned on the report.
The Compensation Data Repository Based Calculation available Cost Estimates, Compensation Calculations and Compensation Worksheets will read the amount of a Compensation Data Repository line item if the line item name matches the description of the associated line item.
The calculation will return the value for the line items based on the comparison of Effective Date and End Date to the Effective Date of the Cost Estimate, Compensation Calculation or Compensation Worksheet Calculation Period.
For example, if there are two line items with name of “Base Salary”, no End Date and the Effective Date on one of the line items is 1/1/12 and the Effective Date on the other item is 1/12/13 and the cost estimate Effective Date is 1/15/13 then the “Base Salary” line item with the Effective Date of 1/12/13 will be returned.
Line items with no Effective Date, future Effective Dates (a date greater than the effective date of the Cost Estimate, Compensation Calculation or Compensation Worksheet Calculation Period) or End Dates before the effective date of the Cost Estimate, Compensation Calculation or Compensation Worksheet Calculation Period will not be returned.
