Once a precondition rule is created, it can be assigned to any existing audit rule. When a rule is linked to a precondition, the rule will only be evaluated if the precondition is determined a success after it has been assessed. If the precondition is assessed and it fails, the rule that it is linked to will be not be evaluated.

On the Expense Audit Settings screen, in the Expense Audit Rules section, click on the pencil icon of the rule that is to have a precondition rule linked to it.

The Has Precondition Rules checkbox is an indicator field. If no precondition rules are linked to the rule, this checkbox remains unticked. Click
